ROH Final Battle 2018 Preview

Good Brothers Nnnnnaaaaaayyyyyytttion! It is finally here, no! Not the night that Santa crams himself down your chimney to fill your stockings full of Mattel Retro Figures and Funko Pops! It is FINAL BATTLE 2018! Headlined by LADDER WAR VII!

So without further delay, let’s dive into the card.

Kenny King vs Eli Isom

In a bout featuring former partners turned foes, Kenny King and Eli Isom. Isom is a product of the RoH Dojo and has so far made some pretty memorable appearances in tag-roles. Isom pinned Christopher Daniels of So Cal Uncensored to gain a shot at the six man titles along with Chuckie T and King. Things have sense changed, as King has of late taken a “whatever means necessary approach,” to put W’s in the results column. This is sure to be an exciting match and get the card off to a great start.

Excitement level: Sitting up

Prediction: King

Sumie Sakai (c) vs Madison Rayne vs Karen Q vs Kelly Klein

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing all these ladies perform in person and believe me, they are as good as any other ladies in the world. Sumie Sakai has brought an international shine to the newly minted RoH Women’s Title but it could be time to pass the torch. Madison Rayne, Karen Q or Kelly Klein could help take the title to the next level.

Excitement level: Sitting up

Prediction: Klein

Matt Taven vs Dalton Castle

This is sure to be a match of the night candidate, Taven and Castle will face off in a probable number one contenders match. I saw Castle lose his title to Lethal in Fairfax, Va in a match that also featured Cody and Taven. I for one look forward to this contest to see who will be next in line for Lethal. Castle took some time off to heal but is clearly still not 100%. In the meantime, Taven has absolutely been on fire, heading up The Kingdom and declaring himself the Uncrowned RoH Champion (complete with a snazzy looking title). While his title will not be on the line, bragging rights will! I just think injuries and the rest of The Kingdom will be too much for the Peacock to overcome.

Excitement level: Standing up

Prediction: Taven

Jay Lethal (c) vs Cody

Cody and Lethal will once again square up for the RoH Championship. Cody’s deal with RoH will soon draw to a close! So it is up to the franchise, Jay Lethal, to keep the title from going with Cody into free agency.

Excitement level: Sitting up

Prediction: Lethal

Jeff Cobb (c) vs Hangman Adam Page

Jeff Cobb has burst into the RoH scene and has quickly made his mark. Having revoked Punishment Martinez’s possession of the coveted RoH TV Title prior to Martinez’s move to Orlando, Cobb’s stock is on the rise. The Elite’s Adam Page has been a mainstay in RoH and is getting another shot at RoH gold.

Excitement level: Standing

Prediction: Jeff Cobb

Jonathan Gresham vs Zack Sabre Jr

If you are into technical wrestling, then this will be your match of the night! These two men will be able to go hold for hold and really put in a show.

Excitement level: Sitting up

Prediction: Zack Sabre Jr

Bully Ray vs Flip Gordon (I quit match)

In a grudge match for the ages, Bully and Gordon are going to try to put their feud to rest. Gordon is just another young and promising talent, who is sure to be gaining priceless experience working with a vet of Bully’s caliber. Bully is one of my all time favorite heels and this has been one of the best runs of the latter part of his career.

Excitement level: Edge of my seat

Prediction: Draw

Christopher Daniels vs Marty Scurll

In a match with major ramifications, not only is Daniels getting a shot to take Scurll’s title shot but he’s also fighting to keep his spot in RoH. This is once again a match if the night candidate as the styles of the two competitors differ just enough to make things interesting. Rumors are, Scurll will be making his RoH exit with the rest of The Elite, so this could be interesting.

Excitement level: Sitting up

Prediction: Daniels

Ladder War VII

The Champs So Cal Uncensored (Kazarian and Sky) will attempt to hold on to their titles against two of the most decorated teams in wrestling history The Briscoes and Young Bucks, during a Triple Threat Ladder War!!! Ladder Wars have been some of the most violent matches in RoH history and this one promises to be just as memorable!

Excitement level: Jumping up and down

Prediction: SCU

So that is our look at Final Battle 2018! Don’t forget to tune in tonight on PPV, RoH Honor Club or the FITE App!
