Each new year brings with it events to which we all anticipate. The Good Brother Wrestlemania Weekend is always circled on my calendar and most everyone will have a vacation, reunion or a special time of year. As fans, we all have matches we want to see! For our purposes today, I’m going to stick to matches that could actually happen based upon current rosters (or projected) but have not necessarily been booked.
5 Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch
I really want to see these two ladies square up, 1 on 1, preferably on the biggest stage of them all, Wrestlemania! I’m afraid this will end up as a triple threat or maybe even a fatal four way. This would be a great disservice to the fans, as Rousey has shown she is capable and a veteran such as Lynch could make sure the match was carried out well.
4 The Club vs The Undisputed Era
This will be the biggest long shot on my list, which is why it is at 4 instead of 1. Any wrestling fan worth his/her salt would salivate at the chance to see Gallows/Anderson/Balor/Styles vs Strong/O’Reilly/Fish/Cole. This would be the biggest match of former indie darlings in the WWE since AJ joined the Rumble.
3 Jeff Cobb vs Josh Woods
The amateur/MMA backgrounds that these guys have could make for a really great match! Woods would also make for a really believable challenge to a seemingly invincible Cobb.
2 Matt Taven vs Jay Lethal
Matt Taven is primed and ready to challenge for Lethal’s Title. He’s playing the roll of arrogant heel backed by a stable as good as anyone in RoH since, well, Jay Lethal during his House of Truth days. Both of these guys are in their primes and could really tear down the house!
1 Evil DIY vs Undisputed Era
So I guess I’m really outing myself as an Undisputed Era mark, but any combination facing a re-formed, ultra-aggressive Gargano/Ciampa sounds like a winner to me.
There are just too many matches I want to see, to close here are some honorable mentions.
Johnny Gargano vs Daniel Bryan
Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles
Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar (legit match)
Finn Balor vs Daniel Bryan
Shayna Baszler vs Asuka
