2018 Countdown: Top 5 Roster Moves I Want to See in 2019

Each new year brings with it an excellent opportunity to change. Whether you want to drop a few pounds, read more or spend more time watching wrestling, Jan. 1 gives us a great starting point. Our favorite superstars can all benefit from a “shake-up” and I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to talk about the ones I want to see the most in 2019! Before I start, I will say I have not looked into contracts, so for the sake of this post, we’ll just assume that all is well for the change.

5 Bray Wyatt to RoH/NJPW

Is there a talent on any roster in the world who could benefit more from a change a scenery than Bray Wyatt. Bray could set RoH/NJPW a blaze with his gimmick (make just enough changes so as not to infringe on copy right of course) and I could imagine him quickly rising to legend status in Japan!

4 AJ Styles to Raw

While SDL is indeed the house that AJ Styles built, the time has come for the Phenomenal One to make the jump to the flagship show. Styles could benefit from new match ups and Raw needs all the help it can get for the sake of ratings.

3 Shinsuke Nakamura to NJPW/RoH

Nakamura’s style has just not translated well to WWE main roster. He’s had one memorable match with Sami Zayn and other than that his biggest contribution has been crotching Styles. I would expect a warm welcome back into the NJPW fold, which could use a big name with the departure of The Elite.

2 CM Punk to All Elite Wrestling

A couple points, I really want to be over Punk but I just can let it go and two, if AEW turns out to be a real thing, then Punk adds instant credibility.

1 The Briscoes to Smackdown Live

It would hurt to see Dem Boys leave Ring of Honor but what is left for them to do? A move to Smackdown Live would set up so many dream matches, it would be amazing!

One major item of note is the Fox deal. I fully expect merged rosters once Smackdown Live is set to air on Fox and we’re likely to see NXT get even more of a push to be the second brand.

Tomorrow we will complete our Countdown with my 5 favorite matches of 2018!
